ST. PETERSBURG, FL – It’s spooky season in St. Petersburg! This means plenty of Halloween events to check out, ranging from family-friendly gathering to more debaucherous adults-only parties.
Check out some upcoming events:
Vampire Clay
Just in time for Halloween, The Studio@620 seeks an answer to this creepy question: Can art be so bad that it kills? Experience some spooky ceramics and enjoy an art-focused horror movie on Oct. 12, 7 p.m., at a screening of “Vampire Clay” and a pop-up show of ceramic works loosely inspired by the film’s themes from local clay artists associated with The Hive.
Read No More Haunted Jack Kerouac House
Who knows what evil lurks behind closed doors? Tour a series of short, scary plays to learn about the hauntings and history of the Read No More Haunted Jack Kerouac House Oct. 13-15. Attendees take a guided tour of the iconic author’s St. Pete home where each room will feature a short scary play produced by teams of local writers and actors in this Wordier Than Thou take on the classic haunted house.
The Great Glass Pumpkin Patch
The Chihuly Collection will transform its garden space into a Great Glass Pumpkin PatchOct. 14, 9 a.m. to noon.
Hauntizaar
Calling all Halloween fans! Are you a resident of the dark side? Does spooky stuff make your skin crawl in a good way? Then you need to be at Hauntizaar Oct. 14, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Studio@620! The most creatively creepy vendors will be sharing their weird wares.
Ghost Stories & Spooky Vibes Art Show Reception
This spooky-themed art show is on display at The Off-Central in conjunction with the theater’s production of “Ghost Stories from Yellowstone” through Oct. 15. A reception for the show takes place Oct. 14, 5 to 8 p.m.
A Venetian Masquerade
The Garden Gallery hosts a dark Venetian Masquerade Oct. 14, 5 to 10 p.m. Hand-painted masks will be available to purchase. Fresh baked goodies and witches brew are available for donation. Stop by to check out new artwork by guest artist A. Durham Designs.
Party for the Paws
This annual event takes place Oct. 14, 6 to 9 p.m., at Dog Bar St. Pete and features a doggie costume contest, raffles and adoptable dogs.
“Beetlejuice” Film Screening
The Factory St. Pete offers a free screening of the Tim Burton classic “Beetlejuice” Oct. 14, 7:30 p.m.
Dirty John’s Freakenstein
From Mary Shelley to Dr. Frankenfurter and now with Freakenstein, the collection of Frankenstein based lore has a new hilariously haunting chapter, courtesy of the Dirty John’s crew. Will the Dr. get a rise out of his monster? Come find out! This 18+ show runs Oct. 19-21, 8 p.m., at The Studio@620.
Horny Little Devils Halloween Party
The annual Horny Little Devils party for the LGBTQ+ community is back Oct. 20, 10 p.m. to 3 a.m., at the Floridian Social. The evening features aerialists, fire dancers and dancing demons, as well as elaborate Halloween décor and props straight from the underworld! Everyone who attends the party will be given LED devil horns.
Reach St. Pete’s 6th Annual Fall Fest
Come paint pumpkins, enjoy live music, an outdoor market, food trucks, bounce houses and more all to raise funds for Reach St. Pete Oct. 21, noon to 5 p.m., at 3 Daughters Brewing. Proceeds from the event will support the organization’s pop-up pantry initiative to bridge the physical, financial, and educational gap to food and nutrition.
Roser Park Ghost Tours & Halloween Block Party
Get ready to get spooked! The Roser Park Historic District will host a ghoulishly good time Oct. 21, 5 to 9:30 p.m. Test your sixth sense with ghost tours with a local paranormal investigator, indulge in a Halloween market, get your tarot read and watch a Halloween movie in the park by the iconic Booker Creek. Come in costume!
Pups and Pumpkins Fundraiser
Pinellas Ale Works hosts its Pups and Pumpkins Fundraiser Oct. 22, 1 to 4 p.m., for Safe Paws Rescue. The event features a dog costume contest, a 50/50 raffle and silent auction, a photo booth, pup treats, and live music.
Suncoast Sierra Club Spooky Social
The Florida Suncoast Sierra Club hosts a Halloween-inspired spooky socialat the Ale and the Witch Oct. 24, 6:30 p.m. Enjoy $5 beer and wine specials, mini-pumpkin painting, and an environmental-themed costume contest.
Boo Bash
This spook-tacular Halloween celebration takes place Oct. 27, 5:30 p.m., at the Jim & Heather Gills YMCA. The event will feature a variety of frightfully fun festivities for the whole family, including Trunk or Treat, inflatables, games, arts and crafts, photo booth, snacks, and music. YMCA Members and guests are welcome to attend, so bring a friend!
Halloween Bar Crawl
This annual Halloween Bar Crawl takes place Oct. 27 and 28, 4 to 10 p.m. at six venues across downtown St. Petersburg.
Halloween Block Party
The Magnolia Heights Neighborhood Association hosts a Halloween Block Party Oct. 28, 4 to 8 p.m., at 12th Street and 34th Avenue North. This family-friendly eventfeatures live music, pet costumes, free food and drinks, kids activities, and a free plant and shade tree giveaway.
Trunk or Treat
Gather your little ghosts and goblins and begin your Halloween celebration at First Presbyterian Church’s annual Trunk or Treat on Oct. 28, 4 p.m. Lots of elaborately decorated trunks will be filled with delicious candy. Participate in fun games and much more.
The Haunted Hammock Hangout
Enjoy local vendors, music, food trucks and a movie screening from the comfort of your hammock. This event, which takes place Oct. 28, 6 to 10 p.m. at the St. Pete Pier, is presented by Coast to Coast Hammock Co.
Halloween on Central
Halloween on Central is back for the third consecutive year Oct. 29, noon to 5 p.m. Central Avenue will be closed down from MLK to 31st Street for a car-free, family-friendly event. There will be local vendors, music, dancing, food and drinks, and Candyland.
Silent Film Night: “Nosferatu”
Imagine Museum presents a Silent Film Night screening of “Nosferatu” Oct. 31, 5 to 8 p.m. Join the museum for this spooky season summit by stepping into the mesmerizing world of the silent film era with a special screening of the legendary vampire classic. Immerse yourself in the haunting narrative of Count Orlok as he emerges from the shadows to cast a spell of terror and darkness. This timeless cinematic masterpiece will chill you to your core!
Halloweenie Roast
City on a Hill Church hosts a Halloweenie Roast for a night of family fun on Oct. 31, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. In addition to free hot dogs, popcorn and drinks, this event features games, inflatable rides, Trunk or Treat with more than 30 cars, and costumed characters.
