Sunset Music Festival lineup: Rezz, Seven Lions, Zomboy, more – Tampa Bay Times
by May 31, 2024For the past few months, Tampa’s Sunset Music Festival has been rebranding itself on social media as “Sunset 2.0.” Today, we have an idea of what that means.
The giant EDM festival on Monday dropped the first phase of its 2020 lineup, and it includes a handful of DJs and electronic acts who’ve passed through Tampa: Rezz, Seven Lions, Zomboy, Sullivan King, Valentino Khan, Destructo, Adventure Club and more.
Whether any of those acts will serve as headliners when the fest returns to Raymond James Stadium on May 23-24 isn’t clear. None of them are slam-dunk, household names like past headliners Zedd, Skrillex, Major Lazer, Tiesto or David Guetta (although Rezz was among the headliners in 2018). The second phase of the lineup, including daily headliners, will be announced soon.
Other names on this year’s lineup: AC Slater, Bawldy, Champagne Drip, Conrank, Decadon, Doc Martin, Drezo, Eptic, Esseks, Green Velvet, JVNA, Kai Wachi, Kaivon, Kompany, Lizzy Jane, Lucii, Party Favor, Paz, Softest Hard, Svdden Death, Swarm, Trifecta, Tynan, Vampa, VNSSA and Wooli.
Sunset is also leaning into back-to-back (or B2B) sets this year, pairing Chris Lorenzo with Wax Motif, Cut Snake with Wongo, J. Worra with Sage Armstrong, Nitti Gritti with Wuki, Petey Clicks with Tombz, Sinden with Kendoll and Taiki Nulight with Shift K3y.
General admission tickets are on sale now for $159.95 and up; various VIP levels take you up from there.
Despite being one of Tampa Bay’s largest music festivals, Sunset has never had a particularly easy go of things. In 2014 and 2015, the festival grounds were evacuated due to weather, and in 2018, the festival’s second day was canceled due to a threat of inclement weather that never really materialized. In 2016, two festivalgoers died from drug overdoses, prompting scrutiny from the city. Two years ago, the Chainsmokers dropped out almost immediately after being announced as headliners. And last year, fans were blasted with extreme heat.
This year’s fest is one of a handful of high-profile events coming to Raymond James Stadium this summer, along with Kenny Chesney (May 9), the Rolling Stones (July 5), Justin Bieber (July 25) and Guns N’ Roses (Aug. 15).
