In Between Days, a new listening bar set to open in St. Pete this summer, is an audiophile venue featuring vintage hi-fi, curated vinyl, and craft sakes.
Located in St Petersburg’s Grand Central District, In Between Days will be the first of its kind in the state and aims to deliver an experience similar to establishments in Tokyo, London, and more recently New York and LA, according to a release.

“We are excited to bring this concept to St Pete,” says Co-founder Elio Marini, a designer, and filmmaker with strong ties to the underground art community in the area. “Listening bars are starting to pop up in major metropolitan areas throughout the globe and we feel that St Pete is the perfect place for such a venue.”

In Between Days will be an audiophile’s paradise

Marini and co-founder Zach Ashton were inspired to create In Between Days after working in Japan.
“Tokyo is the birthplace of listening bars” says Ashton, a Florida native who spent more than 15 years living and working abroad as both a recording artist and consultant. “We want people to have a little taste of Tokyo’s culture here in St Pete.”

The concept of listening bars started in Tokyo, where small cozy venues with unique sound systems offer guests an opportunity to actually “listen” to music.
Nestled in a small house, In Between Days will host listening parties for new releases as well as an ongoing search for unique recordings.

A listening bar for all genres

“We are non-genre specific, if we think it’s good, we will play it.”  Throughout the night, music could range from EDM to afrobeat and from jazz to dub. The cornerstone of their sound system is a pair of vintage Klipsch Lascala’s. Prepare to be bathed in sound.
There are no DJ/s and although In Between Days is a huge fan of vinyl, streaming services will also be used. “With 70 million songs at your disposal, we would be foolish to only play vinyl,” says Ashton. In Between Days will pair music with craft sake, unique cocktails, and delicious plates. Opening summer 2021.
