7 Stutter- and Melodic-House Artists to Keep On Your Radar and Get You Ready for Summer – Magnetic Magazine

Fred again.. broke new ground in the world of electronic music. Taken under the wing of Brian Eno as a teenager, he quickly rose to the top of the charts producing for well-known artists such as Ed Sheeran, P!nk, Charli XCX, and more. Now, with his own line of releases, he’s defined a new genre signature for incorporating everyday elements of life into the songs it births. 
Following in his footsteps, many artists have taken Fred again.. as inspiration, pioneering into not-that-well-charted waters, whether in the form of stutter-house, or reshaping existing melodic-house concepts. Here are seven of these artists to watch, and read through the end to see my bonus stutter-house track pick.
Perhaps the most well-known on this list, BUNT. has emerged onto the scene most notably with tracks such as ‘Paperplanes’ and ‘Clouds’ which have gained online traction and earned him an eager audience. Following in Fred again..’s footsteps, he’s also known to play small, intimate, pop-up sets, even renting out a taco shop in Venice, California for a free-to-attend DJ set.

BKAYE has been steadily at it on TikTok, making summer heaters way before summer was even on the horizon. His most recent track ‘All In My Head’ has earned him a placement on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist, so we’re sure he’s got a bright future in store.

SILK most recently released his stutter-house anthem ‘Quiver’ with a Mall Grab remix following a few months later. He’s also played a number of shows in the UK and done a mix for BBC Radio. This creative take on melodic house is sure to get you excited for his next track!

College sound-design student Garrett Murphy makes music that’s ready for both the club and psychedelic experiences. His breakout track was a collaboration called ‘Lost’ with RSCL, Twin Diplomacy, and Jack August. His most recent music has gained editorial attention and is sure to bring the vibes wherever you are, whatever you’re doing.

ATRIP loves to chop up vocals, synths, and just about anything, a characteristic that is evident in his charismatic productions. He also incorporates wobbling basslines and carefully thought-out ear candy that’s sure to get you moving and he’s earned plays in the likes of Lane 8’s Spring 2022 Mixtape, along with a Coachella 2023 set at the Do Lab.

Hamburg/Ibiza-based solo act Rosbeh makes melodic house, sampling a variety of different speech and vocal clips. His music is sure to transport you to the coast of the Mediterranean Sea from which he takes his inspiration, and make you wish you were there!

Perhaps the most qualified one on this list to get you ready for the imminent summer, spüke makes melody-infused chill house that makes you feel like you’re already chilling by the pool.

‘Apart of Me’ is a collaboration between OTR and Devault, taken from OTR’s upcoming LP, Be Quiet, They’re Listening. This track features great vocal chops and lush soundscapes that follow OTR’s signature sound while breaking into this new, emerging genre.
