Synergy In A Cup’s April Player’s Ball gets something of a reprise on Friday when a staple of the Tampa hip-hop scene, Jroc Jones, celebrates a birthday alongside his band, Synergy In A Cup. The show, curated by Rhapsody Suite, will toast to the late-’90s and early-2000s when Atlanta rappers like Ludacris, T.I., Jermain Dupri, Outkast and Young Jeezy were turning the city into the center of the hip-hop universe. This 100% has a chance of feeling like one of those epic Freaknik spring break parties.
A Tribute to ATL: Jroc Jones w/Synergy in a Cup/The Rhapsody Suite. Fri. Aug. 16, 8 p.m. $30 for reserved seating (GA admission available at the door). Jazz House Supper Club, Tampa. therhapsodysuite.com.
