DJ Allure is a Baltimore-based artist with a penchant for making and mixing original house music that tells a story. His latest release, “Cou Cou,” is a glimpse into the sound he’s been developing from his time performing at clubs all over the east coast, perhaps most notably Rams Head Live in Baltimore, Maryland, and Beachum in Orlando, Florida.

Antoine Maurice Payne (DJ Allure) got the inspiration to start DJing when he moved to Orlando as a teenager and became exposed to house music from attending parties with friends. The experience stuck with him after he moved back to Baltimore and decided to purchase a DJ controller. Never attending a formal school, Antoine used YouTube videos and the advice of forums to get into making mixes on his own and creating music. Eventually, he worked his way to a point where his performances in front of friends and acquaintances developed into gigs which led him to meet some of the most legendary DJs in Baltimore. Under their mentorship, he was able to make more of a name for himself at clubs, establish a unique sound, and even land a sponsorship with the shoe company K-Swiss.
Having achieved enough success to maintain a steady income as a professional DJ, Antoine naturally moved deeper into his own sound when he became a tour DJ for some of his favorite popular artists including rappers Kevin Gates, Gucci Mane, and more. Creating songs that mix tropical, hip hop, and house music, it’s easy to see DJ Allure is bringing something special to fruition. His single, “Cou Cou,” evolves as it grooves from section to section, incorporating elements of chill hip hop and tropical house and blending them into a lively track that’s reminiscent of coconut water by the beach.

With a focus on sound dynamics, capturing emotions, and putting them together into one compelling song, it’s clear DJ Allure is coming at production with strong attention to detail and song structure, and the thoughtful songwriting makes for an original sound that grabs and maintains your attention. Considering the growing attention his original music has been getting from
Spotify streams and publications such as EDM Sauce, it’s easy to root for him to keep pushing music out and continue moving his career forward.
