Five New House & Techno Tracks From Benny Benassi, Layton Giordani, and More – EDM Identity

June 26, 2024

Another week has passed, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the house and techno tunes that have crossed our radar. But above all, the ladies came in clutch for International Women’s Day. Yulia Niko delivered her debut album on Armada, House Music With Love gave us Girls To The Front, AIMMIA dropped off a mic drop mix, and Mz Worthy kept the party pumping over the weekend with one of her own.
There was also one up-and-comer who rose from the pack, and she goes by the name of AMPRS&ND. Her new track is called “Feel,” and it earned a spot on our latest edition of the House & Techno IDchart because its sounds are simply satisfying. She joins an eclectic cast of characters this week, including Benny Benassi, Layton Giordani, Third Culture, Curses, and Alex Stein. When you’re done soaking up the soundwaves, stick around and get up to date with the news.
Lineups have been a major highlight as the festival season gears up, and Shambhala, Do LaB at Coachella, HARD Summer, and Experts Only Caverns Weekender deliver theirs. Additionally, All Day I Dream and Anjunadeep Open Air unveiled tour dates, EDM icon Zedd announced a new album, and Fabric London scored one for the planet by doing away with single-use plastics. All that and so much more!
Read along for more information on five fresh tracks that dropped last week, and listen to more house and techno curations on EDM Identity’s Subterranean SoundsHouse HeatersMelodic Marvels, and Dancefloor Decadence Spotify playlists!
We kick off the list with electro pioneer Benny Benassi placing his spin on one of the most recognizable tracks in the industry. “Let It Rock,” featuring Lil Wayne, was dreamed up and executed in 2008 by American singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Kevin Rudolf. It went on to receive a plethora of remixes before BVRNOUT joined in for a house music uplift.
Last Friday, Benny Benassi decided to take the latter to another level, drenching it in his gritty signature synth style. There’s no doubt that this one will turn the dancefloor inside out at EDC Las Vegas. The track is available on Cr2 Records and marks Benny Benassi’s quick return to the label following “Set You Free” alongside Pink Panda, Alle Farben, and Dave Warren.
Since 2008, San Francisco’s Kelsey Saunders has been paving her way under her Non Sequitur electro alias, but her freshly minted AMPRS&ND moniker has allowed her tech and bass house sides to run wild. These days, popular imprints are vying to get their hands on her productions, like Space Yacht and Farris Wheel Recordings, and now officially, This Ain’t Bristol.
In its totality, “Feel” isn’t one of her most complex tracks, but that’s the draw. Instead, its appeal is defined by the feeling it produces, earning it the perfect title. She provides a quirky and playful soundscape that’ll put a pep in your step and bubbles in the brain. About three-quarters of the way in, AMPRS&ND injects a surprise rise that completes the lift to our happy place.
Feeling a bit paranoid? You will after wrapping your ears around Expert Only’s latest release by Layton Giordani. This vocal stunner is equally brooding and energetic, creating an intense dancefloor reaction at his recent sets.
When reflecting on the creation of “Paranoid,” the NYC-based producer admitted that John Summit encouraged him to explore his sound. That’s exactly what will get you to the top in this industry: Diving head first into boundary-free creativity. That being said, Layton still included the strong techno chug we’ve come to know and love from him!
One genre that’s been grabbing our attention lately is indie electronic, and there’s no one doing it better than Third Culture. Sian and Sacha Robotti are the heads of this project, and after a successful US tour, the guys have kept the momentum going with brand new beats called “Lost & Found.”
This Octopus Recordings production called on the assistance of Berlin-based Curses who shines in the area of 80s new wave, punk, and Italo-disco. Together, the trio designed a retro — yet future-forward soundscape — marked with banging percussion, aggressive synth tones, face-melting vocals, and sensory-stimulating sirens. Can someone point to the nearest rave because this one set the mood for some dark room debauchery?!
Our final selection bonds techno master Alex Stein to Factory 93 Records. It’s called “Crank” and features a sinister palette of undulating sound waves and upward-scaling tones. Just past the halfway mark, all hell breaks loose, whipping the brain into mush while the feet throb from all the action.
If you want to feel the power in person then get your body to one of Alex Stein’s upcoming shows. His spring tour has him touching down in Turkey, Argentina, and Brazil before heading to Canada to crank up the volume in Edmonton, Toronto, and Montreal. Check him out on Instagram for the full list of tour dates and then mark your calendar for the Delusion EP, arriving on April 5 via Terminal M.

Maria first fell in love with electronic music in the early 2000’s when she heard a little tune called “Satisfaction” by Benny Benassi. Since then she has dived headfirst into the scene and is wildly passionate about the trance, techno, and house genres. Festival’s like EDC, Dreamstate, and Dirtybird Campout hold the key to her soul and dance music will always and forever be a major part of her life.
