Meet the artists repping Australia at SXSW in Texas this year – triple j – ABC News
by June 7, 2024It feels like the South by Southwest gang was only just here but the big boss festival in Austin, Texas is gearing up for its 37th edition next month.
Every year there's a pocket of Aussie artists there repping us over here on the other side of the world. The beloved Australia House swings open the doors on Rainey Street, showcasing the slickest emerging artists our deeply creative country has to offer.
This year there are more than 25 artists and bands that'll be making the big trip to the Texan capital, where they will surely light up the stage and show the SXSW crowds how we do it down under.
Over the festival week, the like of Forest Claudette, dust, Sycco, The Belair Lip Bombs, Miss Kaninna, Alice Ivy, Flewnt & inkabee and heaps more will turn Australia House into a heaving party. A bit like when a casual BBQ turn into a full blown rager.
We'll be there too! This year triple j is supporting Sound Australia's showcases on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 March, because there's nothing that we love to shout out more than excellent Aussie music.
Over the years Australia House has played host to a heap of iconic Aussie artists and bands, showing off the prowess of our music community. King Stingray, Teenage Joans, Lime Cordiale, Angie McMahon, Flume, G Flip, DMA's, Hockey Dad, Kwame, Violent Soho, Matt Corby, Gang of Youths and more have hit SXSW before, so you know it's gonna be a good time.
Check out the full line-up hitting the stage at Australia House below and don't forget to pack your biggest cowboy hat if you're headed over to Texas in March.
