Attending Detroit’s annual Movement Music Festival is the penultimate experience for underground dance music fans all over the world, second only to the daily after parties which kickoff in the closing hours of the festival. From Saturday, May 25 to Monday, May 27, the party continues at various venues across Detroit. It wouldn’t be a proper Movement without a Defected Records after party! This year, Detroit Love and Defected Records have teamed up to bring house music legends to Spot Lite. With one of the most recognizable brands in dance music, Defected Records curates lineups that consistently pack the dance floor, so make sure you get your second and third wind!
Yel 3.5 features some of the most popular DJs playing high energy techno and electronica today. Leland City Club is an old hotel turned underground nightclub, known for its dark, industrial vibe and incredible sound. The club will be hot and overflowing with energy, so make sure you stay hydrated!

Drum and Bass lovers will be pleased to see METALHEADZ SINCE FOREVER in Building 6 of The Russell Industrial Center, celebrating 30 years of the Metalheadz record label. “House Heads” can drop into Expo Hall for ENTER THE REALM for soulful, sultry deep house. Whether you’re looking for hard-hitting drum and bass or the rhythmic grooves of deep house, this party promises to deliver a satisfying experience.
The buzz around the In The Mood 10 Year Anniversary Afterparty is loud and palpable. Arguably this year’s quintessential Official Movement Afterparty, The Magic Stick will be brimming with heavy sub frequencies and an impeccable light show.
