NEW PORT RICHEY — A Pasco County music teacher was arrested Wednesday night after deputies said he repeatedly grabbed and poked the buttocks of a man who was cleaning his house.
Stephen Ailing, 54, faces a charge of battery, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. Ailing teaches music at Sunray Elementary School in Holiday, according to an arrest report and the school’s website.
The victim and a witness told deputies that Ailing kept grabbing and poking the man after he told Ailing to stop, according to the report. Deputies said Ailing admitted to groping the man, but he said he didn’t know why the man was upset and “stated he was unsure if he touched the victim’s buttocks multiple times,” according to the report.
The school district placed Ailing on administrative leave.
“His arrest is unrelated to school, but the charges reinforce what we tell students: No means no,” district spokesperson Linda Cobbe said in an email.
