PRH & Little Free Library Bring Banned Books to Solid Sound Music Festival! – Penguin Random House

NEWS

Penguin Random House and Little Free Library are partnering with Wilco’s Solid Sound Music Festival, June 28 – 30 to bring awareness to the recent rise in book banning. Bookmarks and postcards featuring our Banned Books Resource Hub will be distributed in multiple locations throughout the event space.
The Little Free Library takes the shape of steeples in a city with the nickname “Steeple City.”
The event, which expects between eight and ten thousand attendees, will take place at Mass MoCA where a brand new Little Free Library is being built! The Little Free Library will be a permanent fixture of the museum moving forward and PRH is donating a collection of banned books to kick off its creation.
Additionally, Solid Sound is hosting a book swap throughout the event weekend where attendees are invited to bring books from home to leave at the LFL and are welcome to take something new home.
As a part of our larger efforts to fight book banning and advocate for intellectual freedom, our attendance at this event is aimed at inspiring this socially conscious audience to join us in our belief that books make us better, and to provide them with tools to get involved.
