Sandbox is an electronic music festival held over three days in June in the coastal resort town of El Gouna, about half-an-hour drive north of well-known Hurghada, Egypt. Live entertainment is provided by established DJs, live performers, and producers, as well as up-and-coming local names. Some of the past headliners include Dixon, Nic Fanciulli, Âme, Mike Servito, Satori & Band and Butch. Egypt’s electronic extravaganza starts when the sun goes down.
Apart from the musical part, the festival-goers have a great opportunity to take a dip in the enticing clear blue waters of the Red Sea—the beach is just a stone’s throw from the festival’s location. During the day, ravers can also enjoy water sports like surfing or kitesurfing. The tired ones can chill out in the playground with swings and see-saws. Bars offering cold drinks, food vendors, and merchandise stores packed up with cute nicknacks—these are also at your disposal. Plenty of ways to engage yourself in between partying.
