With another year in the books and a new festival season on the horizon for 2024, it’s time to once again escape to events of immaculate vibes and otherworldly sounds. After all, the best way to overcome your seasonal blues from the start of a new calendar year is to look ahead to getting groovy on a festival dancefloor.
When it comes to experiencing euphoric sounds with a picturesque backdrop, trance festivals are your best bet. The trailblazing genre took its name from its blissful sound and style that evoked a state of hypnosis and semi-consciousness, and we’ve got plenty of festivals that fit that style to a T.
So let’s get straight to it. Here are the best UK trance festivals – and even some beyond our shores – to keep on your radar…
A State of Trance
When: Friday 23rd – Saturday 24th February 2024
Where: Ahoy in Rotterdam
2024 lineup: Ben Hemsley, Ben Nicky, Armin Van Burren, Ferry Corsten, Laura Van Dam, and so so so many more
A State Of Trance is one of the most prestigious brands on the scene. Starting out as a radio show by the legendary Armin van Buuren, the brand has now gone global with shows all over the world, including the US, Belgium, Mexico, Thailand, and, of course, the UK.
The colossal party starters will bring their iconic rave to Rotterdam this February, sure to be armed with a lineup of some of the most transcendental and iconic names from the genre. Having previously taken place back home at the London Dockyards, the 2024 edition might involve more travel, but for trance ravers fans it will easily be one of the best trance festivals this year.
Trance In The Woods Festival
When: Saturday 1st June 2024
Where: Elvaston Castle Country Park in Derby, England
2024 lineup: Aly & Fila, Billie Gillies, Binary Finary, Bryan Kearney, Jordan Suckley, Kryder, Mauro Picotto, Paul Oakenfold, Tall Paul and many more
The UK’s first fully-dedicated trance festival in the woods, TITW brings three stages of trance bangers to Derby. If there’s one thing better than escaping into trance tunes all day, it’s doing so in the woods, free from all of the stresses of daily life. The team have promised top-tier production, sound systems so loud you can feel the music through your body, Co2 blasts, lasers, and loads more special effects. And if you aren’t ready for the euphoric trance vibes to end, you can snag a ticket to the afterparty for just a tenner! Lovely.

Indian Spirit Festival
When: Wednesday 28th August – Monday 2nd September 2024
Where: Eldena, Germany
2024 lineup: 1200 Micrograms, Avalon, Berg, Bliss, Burn in Noise, Freedom Fighters and many more
With a name like that, you might expect this fest to be a bit on the zany side. You’d be right. With fire artists, whacky stage designs, and circus performers to complement the DJs, the atmosphere at Psychedelic Circus is unique and unmatched. This German psytrance festival celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2019, so you know you can trust this fest for a great time with two decades of experience under its belt. Outside of trancey genres, the fest books acid techno, acid house, drum and bass, and more. Head over to enjoy tunes, workshops, markets, and chilled-out vibes, it’s the perfect way to close out a jam-packed summer.
Lost Minds Festival

Where: Leazes Park in Newcastle Upon Tyne

Another one with a killer lineup and a bit closer to home, Lost Minds is a trance-focused fest with bits of EDM, hardstyles, and more splashed in. After a sold-out first year, it’s back again to blow our minds with hard tunes, incredible SFX, and huge names across three stages. Alongside all that, there’ll be rides, rave aerobics, the zen tent, art installations, and so much more. It’s going to be massive. We’re down, are you?
