Marquee DTSP, one of St. Petersburg’s newest event spaces, is holding a Blackout-Techno Black Light Party with DJs EyeAwake (pictured), Robby Bell, S.I.D.and Sky Armada. Hopefully there will be some energy drinks on hand because the event, located at 350 1st Ave. N, lasts until 6 a.m.
UPDATE: On Thursday, after our print issue hit newsstands, promoter Mike Campbell told Creative Loafing that this party has been moved to St. Petersburg's 4 Play After Dark club at 10387 Gandy Blvd. near Derby Lane. "All of my events are operated in accordance with all local and CDC guidelines. I ensure that the venue will enforce the rules before I utilize their space. I’m in the medical field so I make sure everyone parties safe :)," Campbell wrote.
Free glow sticks will be given out, and the event boasts lasers and LED blacklight cannons creating a “…sensory overload to set the scene for this wild journey until the daylight hours.” Hopefully that wild journey includes some sort of COVID-19 protocol (Creative Loafing Tampa Bay reached out to organizers to confirm and will update this post online with any news).
Whatever the protocols, there is a free breakfast served at 3 a.m., so though you may not be totally safe from COVID-19, you’ll get a free donut or something.
Blackout-Techno Black Light Party: Eye Awake w/Robby Bell/S.I.D./Sky Armada. Friday, March 19, 10 p.m. $10 and up. Marquee DTSP, St. Petersburg. Tickets on Eventbrite
