Trap and EDM producer Nghtmre kicks off winter tour in Tampa – Creative Loafing Tampa
by May 31, 2024 By LJ Hilberath on Tue, Oct 15, 2019 at 11:57 am
In 2017 and 2018, it seemed every festival writeup we did mention Nghtmre (stylized “NGHTMRE”) as a potential headliner. Well, it seems that day has come, as the EDM trap star announced plans to kick off his solo winter tour right here in Ybor City.
Tyler Marenyi — the 28-year-old behind Nghtmre — has actually held the headliner distinction much of this year, only as a third of the Gud Vibrations trio, which includes EDM-duo Slander. While the group was able to headline festivals like Buku and Electric Forest earlier this year, it seems it's Marenyi’s turn to fill venues on his own. Kicking off his annual “Nghtmre Before Christmas” run, the trap phenom debuts a brand new “Portal” stage for his biggest tour to date. Expect a little bit of head banging and vibing, as this tour stop also offers heavy-style acts Satmyname (stylized “SAYMYNAME”) and Effin.
Nghtmre w/Saymyname/Effin. Thurs. Dec. 5, 10 p.m. $25 & up. The Ritz, Ybor City. seetickets.us.
